Simple ways to be happy!

We all want to be happy and it is really simple. Everyone feels happy in a different way but the basic root is the same. We all are human beings and the majority of us feel happy with simple things in life. Today I will tell you simple rules to be happy and how you can enjoy your life to the fullest by following these simple rules

  1. Stay in touch with your family:

    1. In this electronic age, it is very easy to lose touch with family and close friends. If you are close to your friends/family then plan on staying in touch with them. 

    2. If you live in the same town as your family, plan to visit them frequently. If you are away, do call them frequently and/or video chat with them. 

    3. Talking to them will make you feel happier and you will be able to come up with a lot of topics to talk on. You can talk to them freely since they are your family and they won't judge you. So grab that phone and give them a call today. 

  2. Exercising: 

    1. You should look after yourself and your health. Most of us have an excuse of not working out, either we are too busy or we are interested in working out. Any reason is not good enough to exploit your body in this manner and to not get enough exercise. It is important to start exercising by taking baby steps and sticking to the plan. If you can't exercise on a regular basis, then watch what you eat. Having a good diet will surely help you to be in good health. 

  3. Starting/Pursuing a hobby

    1. It is never late to start on a hobby. You can always have a hobby that is not related to your work. It could be completely different from what you do for a living.  

    2. Having a hobby will make you look forward to productive evenings and weekends. I think if we have a hobby and are busy with it then we will spend less time on shopping unnecessary stuff to satisfy us. We will not kill our free time by shopping. With a hobby, time and energy will be channelized in a productive manner.

  1. Having a set of close friends to talk to:

    1. Anxiety, sadness, and loneliness could knock someone's door at any time. Having a friend or set of friends will help you to talk in times of need. I understand that you might be in a different time zone. If so then invest some time to make some new friends in your area. Make sure to meet them on a regular basis. Eventually you will have a set of friends to rely on in times of need. 

    2. Having a set of friends will make you feel happy about life in general. 

  2. Helping others 

    1. There is no great pleasure in life than helping the needy. You can spend some time in a month to explicitly help others. You can visit an old age home, an orphanage, or local community and help them. The options of helping others are endless. 

    2. Trust me you will feel great and happy after helping others. Make sure to do at least one kind deed once a week if possible. 

  3. Loving the job you have or finding a job you love:

    1. It is easy to complain about your job daily. Dare to change careers/workplace if you don't like your current situation. I have met so many people, who complain about their workplace or occupation and are unhappy about it. But few of them have courage to put in the necessary effort to bring in the needed change. 

    2. Complainers are usually caught in a vicious circle of complaining & feeling bad for themselve. However, those few who made the necessary changes are much happier in their life now and are glad that they made the decisions. So if you don't like something in your life, dare to work on it to change it. 

  4. Let go of things:

    1. There is no bigger strength in the world than the ability to let go of things. If someone hurts you then forgive him/her. Don't try to get back at them. Getting back will only stress you out and will make you feel worse. If something hasn't gone according as per the plan, let it be. 

    2. There are many great things in the world that happened without planning. Planning is important. However if you do it excessively, it will only cause stress. To be happy learn to let go of things and be happy.
